Meet Your Dentist, Dr Shirley Lee
BDS (Adel)
Hi, I’m Shirley Lee – your family dentist at Connect Dental Care. I’ve been practising dentistry since 1999, after obtaining my degree from the University of Adelaide. During my studies, I was honoured to receive the Thomas D. Hannon prize in my third year, and The Australian Society of Orthodontists (SA branch) prize in my final year.
Since then, I’ve been fortunate to work with wonderful patients around the world, including Malaysia and Australia (I still believe Melbourne has the best coffee). After 20 years in dentistry, my passion continues to grow each day with the number of patients I treat. I love meeting people of all ages, and particularly enjoy working with children.
I believe that every family deserves quality, affordable dental care. That’s why I’ve dedicated my career to general dentistry. I continually update my skills and knowledge in all areas, including implantology, so I can provide the best possible service – and give patients the healthiest smiles.
I look forward to meeting you and your family at Connect Dental Care in Hoppers Crossing. I speak fluent English, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and Malay (Indonesian) to make your visit even easier.

Specialised dental treatments and services
Correction of crooked & misaligned teeth
Our state-of-the-art facilities mean that you can get your digital X-ray done in-house at Connect Dental Care to quickly and accurately diagnose any incidence of crowding. This means that you save time and energy and we can get started on proposing the best treatment and management plan for you. The good news is there is no age limit to this orthodontic treatment and our friendly dentist can help even the youngest patient to enjoy the benefit of having straight teeth. Discuss your concerns with us and choose from various options such as the trusted fixed braces (metal and porcelain brackets), clear aligners or removable plates. There is something to suit every lifestyle and targeted time frame.
Prevention of dental caries (decay)
Blessed with a sweet tooth? Then you need to keep an eye out for dental caries. However, did you know that not all caries are symptomatic so you may not know if you are at risk of the disease? That is why it is so important to stay ahead of the condition. Connect Dental Care’s computerised system provides timely reminders to help patients stay one step ahead with comprehensive check-ups so that you can avoid the dreaded toothache and possible extraction. If fillings are warranted, we have the latest tooth-coloured fillings to help you keep your smile as awesome as before.
Treatment and management of toothache (tooth pain)
Not all toothaches are the same. We take great care to ensure that we provide a thorough diagnosis of your pain. Our gentle and experienced dentist will support you through these episodes and help put you on the road to recovery as comfortably as possible. There are many options which you can discuss with our friendly dentist.
Repair of broken/damaged fillings
Life happens. A broken filling can also happen at any time, sometimes even at the most inconvenient of times. We understand the urgency of these cases and will strive to fit in patients with such situations. The best options will be presented to you depending on your condition and needs. If crowning is required, you will be able to discuss the best choices under this category as well before making a decision.
Management of cracked/broken tooth
Some people are more prone to cracked teeth, depending on the shape of their teeth. The key is to prevent a cracked tooth from becoming a split tooth whereby an extraction will be required. As with caries, prevention really is better and we can advise you on the best way to manage and treat a cracked tooth. Preventive measures such as splints or guards are also available.
Prevention of gum disease (Periodontitis)
We care about helping you preserve your teeth and one of the main things you need to avoid is gum disease. Gum disease can spread to the underlying supportive bone, which in turn, can cause teeth to loosen. We will help you in your oral health care by sending you periodic reminders to come in for scaling every 3-6 months, where we will assess your condition and recommend personalised preventive treatments.
Whitening
Whiten your teeth safely and comfortably with us. Our teeth whitening procedure is customised yet hassle free and you can do it in the comfort of your own home. Our holistic approach to dental care means that we will perform a complete assessment for you before we recommend the best teeth whitening procedure to suit your needs.
